A Letter to the Carson VotersI have proudly served you in the City Treasurer's Office for 20 years; the past 10 as your City Treasurer. My roots began in the city 45 years ago and now my children have grown to adulthood in this fine city. Under my leadership I have tightened numerous city policies and procedures to safeguard the city's funds. My Fraud Hotline, has resulted in well over $100,000 in benefit to the City through the detection and prevention of fraud. When the City was faced with catastrophic revenue shortfalls last year, I led the charge for staff citywide to audit funds sitting dormant that could rightfully be transferred to the city's general fund. That action resulted in the recovery of $3 million. Additionally, I cut my department budget by 30%, changed vendors and brought in a new program to increase revenue by $100,000 annually. During my 20 years in the Treasurer's Office the city's investments of over $150 million have been safely managed, never losing one penny to shady investment schemes. I respectfully request your vote to continue my lifetime commitment of service to the City of Carson as the candidate with experience you can trust.
