Non-residents' children who attend our schools need to be identifiedBy Myron W GoldmanCandidate for Director; Cheltenham Township School District; Democratic, Republican Party | |

Suggestions to improve the registration process in order to minimize the number of illegals attending our schoolsThe re-registration of students is a good idea but the initial registration process needs to be more effective. Documents required for new registrations should be difficult to counterfeit and need to be followed up for accuracy. The listed residence should be verified by phone calls and/or visits. Administrative people should be periodically posted at major crossing streets between Cheltenham and neighboring school districts to view first hand possible non-resident children crossing streets into Cheltenham. The re-registration process needs to cause the least inconvenience for our residents. The district must realize it is a burden for some people to take a day off to satisfy the demands of the district to prove residency of a child. |
