It's All About PrioritiesBy David RoseCandidate for Governing Board Member; Charter Oak Unified School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I am very concerned about the state of our budget in the years to come. I feel that in the past better decisions could have been made regarding the funds we do have available. I believe no matter what Sacramento throws our way we can balance the budget without laying one teacher off. It's all about priorities and planning ahead. I am also very concerned about the test scores at some of our elementary schools. We can do better. We can help teachers to get the necessary resources they need in their classroom. We can do it! I think in the past I have been unfairly accused of being unsympathetic to the teachers' needs. This is simply not true. I am a teacher! I understand how hard teachers work, and how important it is to have excellent teachers in our district. I know that if everyone is committed to make classrooms and students the priority we can't fail. |
