Candidate for
Mayor; City of Hawthorne

Alex Vargas was overwhelmingly elected to Hawthorne's City Council two years ago. As Councilmember, Alex has successfully brought the community together and protected our police officers and firefighters.

In this election, Hawthorne residents must determine whether our city heads into the future with a new vision, or continues the same old politics of the past. As Mayor, Alex will:

Reduce Crime and Gangs: Alex will work to place more officers on patrol, crack down on gangs, and increase school security so we can raise our families in safety.

Strengthen Ethics in Government: It's time to consider new ethics guidelines and term limits for our City Council, to ensure a responsive and responsible government.

Protect City Services: Our city needs to be focused on balancing our budget while continuing to provide essential services to residents.

Attract New Business: Our city must work to attract new, upscale businesses to bring much needed revenue and create jobs for our residents.
