What are your qualifications for office? Answer from Kerry D. Rabe: As a twenty-four year resident of Sharonville and an eight-term member of Council, I know Sharonville and its people pretty well. I have a proven track record of getting the job done, even in a tough economy. 2. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the City? Answer from Kerry D. Rabe: With a population of 14,000, expanding to 30,000 with our daytime work force,a strong well-run police and fire service is paramount. Futher, our residents have come to expect streets,curbs and sidewalks in good repair, as well as timely snow removal. 3. How would you balance the City Budget? Answer from Kerry D. Rabe: By law,our budget has to be balanced. We cannot run a deficit. The past two or three years have definitely been a challenge, but through strict budget controls we have and will continue to succeed. Despite a difficult environment, we have been able to balance the budget without layoffs or furloughs, keeping good city services without hugh increases in fees. 4. What actions will you take to support clean air? Answer from Kerry D. Rabe: The city of Sharonville follows state and federal laws regarding strict compliance when it comes to air standards. With new construction, particularly that owned by the city, I have a strong interest making buildings as green and eco friendly as possible, within a reasonable budget.
