Full Biography for Mick Angelichio
Candidate for |

|
Mick Angelichio Pronounced Ang-a-lick-e-o Endorsed Republican Candidate for the West Norriton Board of Commissioners Mick brings over 23 years of private industry experience to his candidacy for West Norriton Commissioner. In the staffing business since 1987, he has become intimately familiar with various businesses across many industries ranging in size from small mom and pop firms to fortune 100 companies. During his 23 years of staffing industry experience he is worked his way up through the ranks from entry level recruiter to starting up and managing several staffing, search and services offices. Although mainly in a management role now, he personally placed over 300 professionals in positions in 2010 which was quite an accomplishment with an unemployment rate hovering around 10 percent. As a graduate from The George Washington University in D.C. with a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and born on the fourth of July in the Philadelphia area he has always had an intense patriotism and interest in both politics and public service. Born in Norristown and a graduate of Norristown Area High School, Mick has been a resident of West Norriton for over 22 years and is currently raising a family there with his wife where they both are very active members in the community. In addition to currently serving on the West Norriton Zoning Board, the West Norriton Little League Board of Directors and the Norristown Preservation Society Board of Directors, Mick has also donated his time serving a coach for the Visitation Parrish Pee-Wee programs, West Norriton Girls Athletic Association, as a member of the Pastoral Council at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, a CYO coach at both St. Francis of Assisi and St. Eleanor's Parishes and several committees at Plymouth Country Club as well as a long time participant in Norristown's Men's Softball program. Mick brings a fiscally responsible approach to both governing and business operations with a focus on public safety, business development and community interaction. Given the challenges our township is facing, there is no better candidate suited to understand the obstacles, develop solutions and implement plans along with the stake holders to accomplish the goals set forth. Mick is a conservative republican which means he will be conservative with your money and will operate under the same strict fiscal methods that most of the residents of West Norriton adhere to. One of the major initiatives he would like to get started on immediately is bringing new businesses into the township to create jobs in order to increase the tax base thus reduce the burden on our current residents. As part of his plan, Mick would like to start the West Norriton Chamber of Commerce where he would engage the input and assistance of our local businesses and residents to develop a short and long range plan for our township. As you know, our Main Street (Ridge Pike) has many abandoned buildings and offices and given Mick's medical staffing experience he would prove to be a valuable resource in an attempt to partner with the Einsteint/Montgomery Hospital to bring new services and businesses into our community rather then losing them to our surrounding townships. And although the new hospital will present many opportunities to West Norriton, Mick will meet with residents and business leaders to develop a wide array of business opportunities so that our Township will have a diverse business and tax base that will extend far beyond Main Street. Mick also has a desire to make our township safer and improve our quality of life. To that end he wishes to again work with the residents to find out what is important to them; develop a plan and work to secure both public and private funding to achieve the goals the residents agree upon. He would once again look to develop a long range plan where we could incorporate our current recreational sites, improve on their functionality and usage while working with our neighboring communities as part of a regional plan to increase our quality of life. |
