This information is provided by the candidate

Suki Kott is a lifelong activist and participant in Democratic endeavors at the local and national levels. She has worked on Democratic campaigns since before she was old enough to vote when, in 1986, she worked on Harry Reid's first campaign for US Senate. Since then she has continued to volunteer on many Democratic campaigns, primarily at the local level.

Aside from her work for the Democratic party, Suki has done legislative work for two members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors where she worked on issues related to children, women and technology. She is also a member of the Election Committee of the League of Women Voters of San Francisco where she works on issues that affect election integrity and voter fraud.

Suki has been advocating for government transparency since 2007 and has attended transparency and open government (Gov 2.0) events such as the Sunlight Foundation's TransparencyCamp. She co-founded SF Tech Dems to organize San Francisco Democrats toward a more open city and state government. This past summer she attended the New Organizing Institute's Data Bootcamp where she learned how to leverage voter data to more effectively organize the Democratic community.

Suki is a software engineer, having worked most recently in the cleantech sector. Her technical experience combined with her legislative experience gives her the ability to understand and clearly communicate the technical and social implications behind technical policy related issues. She provides analysis on tech policy issues such as net neutrality, privacy, energy reform, and transparency.

She has a BA in English Literature from San Francisco State University, a Certificate in Computer Programming from City College of San Francisco and an MS in Software Engineering from Golden Gate University.
