Education and Qualifications:

I am running for Mount Diablo Unified School Board because I am passionate about education and firmly believe that the education of our youth should be a number one priority. I offer proven leadership skills that will result in thoughtful, respectful, and transparent decision making. I am a lifelong resident of Bay Point and my husband of 32 years and I raised two daughters that graduated from the Mt. Diablo school district.

I currently serve on the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council. I have over 20 years of hands- on public service where I have spearheaded meaningful change.

I have developed a variety of public/private partnerships that brought critical services and programs to communities in Contra Costa, including a Family Service Center, a Health Clinic and several after school programs.

A partnership I developed with the Contra Costa Solano Food Bank resulted in the Farm2Kid program that grew from five to over 70 schools throughout Contra Costa and Solano Counties. I received the State of California Champion for Change Award and the Food Bank Volunteer of the Year recognizing my work on the Farm2Kid program.

I developed a Teen Garden program and for that work I received the Governor's Silver Medal Spotlight Award for outstanding recreation program.

I would love to continue to serve youth by sitting on the Mount Diablo School Board and helping to develop and implement policies and programs that will best meet the needs not only the students but the whole community we serve.
