Education and Qualifications:

I am an educator and a lifelong learner. I live in our community and participate in many volunteer activities with Soroptimist of the Delta, Corn Fest, Arts Festival, and others.

After working in the private sector for over 20 years, I went back to school and earned a teaching and administrative credentials. In addition, I earned a Master's degree in Education, with emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. I have enjoyed working with students since 1994.

I have worked as a foreign language teacher, Principal and more recently as an Assistant Principal. For five years I was an Assistant Principal at Liberty High School and helped to open Heritage High School in 2005. I served in the LUHSD Board of trustees from 2006-2010 and worked diligently to serve the children of our communities.

I have been involved in our schools in many different ways, as a student, volunteer, teacher, and administrator. I believe this rich background and experience in education sets me apart from other candidates. In addition, I am bilingual and bicultural, and I have used this ability to help improve communication between the Liberty Union High School District schools and the Latino population.

The teaching profession is one that I respect and hold in high esteem. Teachers work daily with children who are the future of our cities, state, nation, and world. If elected I will use my skills and experience in business and education to keep the Liberty Union High School District in the position as the top district in East County. Our schools must continue to adjust to meet the needs of our changing communities. I pledge my efforts to see that this happens.
