Putting Children First!By Brandon R. JonesCandidate for Governing Board Member; Lowell Joint School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Providing our children with the highest quality education is not only their right but what we've come to expect from the Lowell Joint School District. Lowell Joint has a reputation for having outstanding teachers, high quality leadership and students ready to learn. In fact, having grown up in La Habra Heights, I was one of those students. I was fortunate to have had great teachers who cared about me. I was so inspired by the teachers who came before me, that I became a teacher myself. I'm currently teaching Biology at Rio Hondo College, but I feel that I have more to give. That's why I'm running for the Lowell Joint School Board. I want to be a part of the district that helped shape my life and in turn help shape the lives of the children in our district. That includes my own children. My son is a kindergartener at Olita Elementary and my other two children will attend in the coming years. This district is not only special to me because it helped shaped who I am, it's special because my father, Richard D. Jones, was a board member for 17 years. Lowell Joint Elementary School District has a rich history of excellence in education and it's important to continue this tradition during these difficult times. We need leadership committed to maintain academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and safe schools. Thomas Edison once said "There is no substitute for hard work." I am committed to work hard and to stand up and put our children first. I would be honored and humbled to have your vote to preserve the great tradition that has become Lowell Joint School District. Thank You for your Support, Brandon |
