Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Monterey

I have lived in Monterey for 38 years, during which I have practiced law, specializing in real estate and business; and with my wife, Carol, have raised a family of three who all attended public schools. Prior to moving here, I graduated West point as a civil engineer and am a decorated combat veteran of Vietnam, and a former Ranger.

I am an original founder of the Old Town Neighborhood Association and its first member on the Neighborhood Improvement Committee. I have been a city volunteer for 26 years. I have served 10 years on the Parks and Recreation Commission and the past 16 years on the Monterey Planning Commission, currently serving as Vice-Chair. I have been involved in developing successful projects such as the Sports Center, San Carlos Beach, and the Recreation Trail. Most recently I have played a lead role in developing the Waterfront Master Plan and the Downtown Specific Plan.

My community activities have included 6 years managing a Pony league baseball team, Past President of the Pacheco Club, Chairman of the Local Selective Service Board, President of the Board of the Family Resources Center, and Rotary.
