A respected reconstructive foot and ankle surgeon in private practice in Tustin for 20 years, Dr. Bernstein embarked on a career as a Healthcare Consultant in 1998. He has consulted on numerous projects for Managed Care Organizations, providing expertise in Strategic Planning, Marketing and Branding, Operational and Process improvement, Medical Informatics, Internet Strategy, Peer Review, and Utilization Review. He has consulted for several Disease Management Companies, designing, developing, and implementing Population Health Management programs, particularly involving Diabetics. Dr. Bernstein serves as a QME/IME in Medical-legal consultation.
He is an award winning author and lecturer. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Bernstein holds a B.A. from Boston University, and an M.B.A. from the Healthcare Executive Program at the University of California at Irvine. He has served as a Residency Director for Reconstructive foot and ankle Surgeons. Dr. Bernstein served as President of the Orange County Podiatric Association, Scientific Chairman for the Western Foot and Ankle Conference. He participated in developing Cub Scout Pack 518 and served as Tiger Cub leader. His involvement in the non for profit world has been fueled by his passion for Israel defined by his participation in Hillel, The Israel on Campus Coalition, AIPAC, JNF as well as fulfilling teaching responsibilities for the Bureau of Jewish Education, and local Hebrew Schools.
