focus, discipline and transparencyI am asking for your vote to reelect me as City Treasurer. I helped author and implement City policy to define the role of the City Treasurer according to the California Government Code and to establish a Budget/Audit Committee for the first time in the history of the City. Although not as important, I have refused compensation and have refused to have you pay for my medical, life and dental insurance. As Executive Director of a nonprofit (http://www.occhc.org) I have helped board and staff keep the organization successful and solvent. I have held that job since 1978. Before that time I developed homes in Lake Elsinore, Pacific Palisades and Glendale. I have served as Junior Warden of my church, President of the Soccer League, EVMWD Director, Councilmember, Chair of the General Plan Committee and Chair of various committees with the League of Cities and Southern California Association of Governments. As Treasurer I will work to keep a spending lid on projects that do not (1) add to public safety, (2) maintain the public infrastructure and (3) increase the opportunity for local economic development. |
