Candidate for Board Member; Desert Sands Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Through our schools, we build our future. We continue to be challenged by an ongoing economic crisis. So we need leadership with a vision for success that also knows how to maximize limited resources.

As your school board member:

  • I will promote policies that remove obstacles to student achievement and that focus on student success.

  • I will give schools the tools they need to be effective, including classrooms with modern technology.

  • I will ensure a safe and healthy school environment for our children, including zero tolerance for unacceptable behavior and prevention programs that keep kids on the right track.

I am a businesswoman and a community volunteer. I have been an educator for 24 years and I am passionate about education. My husband and I have lived in the Coachella Valley for 33 years. We raised two children here, both of whom received their education through DSUSD. I have earned and received the endorsement of the teachers, city council members, and community leaders from every city in our district.

With quality education our students win, our schools win, and our community wins. On Election Day, vote Wendy Jonathan for Desert Sands School Board.
