Candidate for
Council Member; City of Milpitas

My name is Rajeev Madnawat (Milpitas Citizen of the Year 2012). I have been a resident of Milpitas since 2000. My educational qualifications include Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Laws (LLM). I worked as an engineer for over a decade before becoming an attorney.

I am involved with several community, service, and charitable causes. As an attorney, I volunteer my time to provide free legal services to those who cannot afford them. I have been a Milpitas city commissioner since 2007 and I am currently a Milpitas Planning Commissioner. I am also a volunteer arbitrator for a state-mandated program that handles fee disputes between attorneys and their clients. I have been a member of the School Site Committee, MUSD's CBAC, etc. I am currently the chair of the Measure B Citizen Oversight Committee and a board member and treasurer of the Milpitas Community Educational Endowment.

My community leadership and volunteering services have been recognized by the California Legislature, the County of Santa Clara and the City of Milpitas. My focus includes fiscally- responsible government, lower taxes, better educational opportunities for our future generation, and safer communities.
