Honest & Transparent GovernmentBy Jim WoodCandidate for Mayor; City of Oceanside | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Government accountability & transparency is crucial to a well run City.I authored the Lobbyists Ordinance to make sure lobbyists had to register in Oceanside. They must identify themselves so you know who is influencing council decisions. Councilmen Kern, Feller and Felien repealed most of that ordinance but when I am re-elected I promise to make sure that ordinance is up to date and fulfills it purpose- to identify out of town special interests who seek to influence the Council. I will introduce a Sunshine Ordinance to ensure this happens. I believe it's terribly important that citizens know what is going on in Oceanside's government- no surprises, open government, notice and opportunity to be heard, and the ability to get information that is important to them. Residents must be assured their government is operating in a honest, forthright manner. YOU have a right to know! |
