My goal is progress. My objectives are to:By Michael "Mike" O'NeillCandidate for Council Member; City of Pacifica; 2 Year Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
In my 14 years on the Pacifica School Board of Trustees I have believed in accountability, transparency and open meetings, and looking at the long term impacts of my votes. Below are my goals if elected to the City Council and I will make every effort to achieve these goals. I helped make the Pacifica School district a High Performing School District I will also work to make Pacifica a High Performing City.1) Stabilize fiscal budgeting so that we can move forward we need to look at both revenue and expenses. I would prioritize our infrastructure and try to begin a maintenance and improvement plan. A lot of our problems are from neglected maintenance. The pier, sewer laterals, streets, and the sewage treatment plant are all examples of nobody minding the store. 2) Look at what is making Pacifica lower on the list for businesses to consider us as a place to invest. I would study and fix the zoning codes, policies, planning and attitude that have given Pacifica the reputation it has among both residents and businesses as tough to work with. 3) Honest transparent government. a. Easy to understand budget process that is available to the public 4) Hire an Economic Development Director and an assistant. The Council will give clear direction as to what is needed, wanted and expected. There would be an established timeline and review in a public forum to report on achievements and activities of the department. In the beginning bi monthly and eventually monthly. There would be clear accountability and responsibility for results.
My Promise to You the Voter: I will be an open accessible council person to all voices in the community including residents, businesses, employees, and potential investors in Pacifica. In my fourteen years on the Pacifica School Board I have always returned a phone call or e mail from a constituent. I feel it is important to support the quality of life we have in Pacifica just as my family has enjoyed. I have experienced the pleasure and the unique experience of raising my family and three children Sean, Siobhan, and Alana in Pacifica, a place we all call home. |
