ABOUT DAVID I am a native Angeleno and lifelong resident of LACCD District 6. I am a proud product of the Montebello Unified School District which I now have the privilege of representing on the Board of Education. I have spent my entire career as a public servant to the people of Los Angeles as a Legislative Aid to various leaders including Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina. I am running to bring a 21st Century approach to how we teach our college students. I have worked over the last 5 years as a School Board Member to ensure that our High School Students are ready and able to attend college and join the work force. As a Community College Trustee we have a responsibility for training and educating our youth in a myriad of careers both academically and vocationally. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and received my Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master's in Public Policy from Pepperdine University. EDUCATION LEADER Over the last 5 years that I have spent on the Montebello School Board, I created a perfect attendance program which has improved our District's Average Daily Attendance to over 96%. I implemented an aggressive anti-bullying program focusing on LGBT students. I increased API and APY scores district-wide. I balanced the budget without layoffs to permanent teachers. Finally, I implemented a college preparatory program called College Bound Today that helps improves access to higher education for our high school students. ENDORSEMENT LIST EDUCATION LEADERS
