Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Lynwood Unified School District

Raised in Lynwood, I am a product of Lynwood's public schools from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I graduated from UCR and received a B.A. in English, all while still maintaining a strong connection with Lynwood by serving as the Co-Chair for the Lynwood Alumni College Conference Committee. I attended Loyola Marymount University for my teaching credentials and am currently pursuing a Masters in Urban Education with a concentration in Administration and Policy from that same university.

As a classroom teacher, I have experienced first hand the need to provide our students with quality instruction in order to create pathways of opportunity for them. As an alumnus, returning to Lynwood with the aspirations of serving my community is a dream come true. I seek to continue Lynwood's momentum and hope to bring leadership and understanding from the teacher's perspective in order to help our school board better serve our students.

I want to advocate for more highly qualified teachers and to maintain high expectations for academic excellence. As a passionate college and career advocate, I also aim to ingrain college awareness into our schools, as our students have the potential and deserve the opportunity to be all that they can be.
