Questions & Answers

1. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the Township?

The only thing our township has to provide from your hard earned taxes are Police, Fire, and Road services. Everything else is just a bonus. The problem is the bonuses were so good for so long that residents feel entitle to these extra services. Previous administrations did such a a good job that we're still trying to figure out why so many things are being taken from us for little or no savings.

2. How would you balance the Township Budget?

Levies are a last resort. Our administration knows they have to ask for a levy. The problem is it's an election year and no one goes around saying "vote for me, I'll raise your taxes". But the truth is whether you vote for me or my opponents, your taxes are going up. The difference is I'm honest enough to tell you that. It is irrelevant whether you are for or against the impending levies. You pay your taxes, you have a right to vote on how your money is spent. Your right to vote has been take from you for almost 23 months. I will give you your right to vote back!

3. Citizen engagement is important to the health of local government. In what ways do you support citizen engagement?

I am by far the most active candidate in our community. I do fundraisers, teach dance, and do speaking engagements in all of our local schools. I was a camp counselor for 17 years at Colerain Park. When they cancelled it after I offered to pay for the program out of my own pocket, I decided to run for trustee. As I got more involved I realized there were much bigger issues with our impending levies. I just graduated from the Citizens Fire Academy and I plan on doing the Police Academy next. I refuse to let this administration take away anymore programs from our kids or seniors for little or no savings to our tax payers. There are better days ahead for Colerain!
