Education and Qualifications:

Attorney, 1981 to present; Juris Doctorate, 1980, Western State University College of Law; B.A., History/German, Pacific Union College 1975.

I have devoted my professional career (32 years) to the practice of law in Butte County. I have experience in Family Law, Juvenile Law, Bankruptcy, and Criminal Defense. I have trial experience in each of these areas. I have been a member of the Butte County Public Defender Consortium since 1990. I have handled cases from misdemeanors to serious felonies.

I am married with two adult children. Both of them attended and graduated from local schools.

I am a board member for Girls on the Run Butte County. I am a strong advocate for this program which instills self-confidence and values in preteen girls. I have been a Mentor in the Fleet Feet Chico Marathon Training program. I continue to be an active participant in it.

My broad experience has taught me to respect and admire the law and those who engage in its practice. My years of practicing law have shown me how a courtroom should be run. As judge, I will stand for justice, uphold the law, and respect all who come into my Court.
