Political Philosophy for Nancy Johnson
Candidate for |

|
Politically I tend to be very moderate. Above all I find it important to be a good listener, not only to fellow council members, also it is important to listen carefully to the needs of our citizens. Our City needs to return to our roots with a truly balanced budget. We cannot afford the wasteful spending that has gone on the past two years. We must encourage current business owners and reach out to new businesses to provide the economic base we need to maintain the level of services our community expects. One of the most important businesses in our area is our fishing industry. After several years of hard times they are making a great comeback and need to be support by City regulations and interaction with other agencies. Our Fire and Police Departments are critical to the well being of our City. All City employees need to be paid a fair wage, especially public safety personnel. We are currently planning for a new waste water treatment plant that can potentially be very expensive for our community. It is important to keep track of the expenses and build the best plant we can AFFORD without becoming a burden to our residents. |
