Member of the State Assembly; District 62

I am a Democrat, but my approach to governance is rooted in reasonableness, candor, and protecting our future. Right now, politicians seem to be far too short-sighted to be effective in the longer term (7-plus years) and this is beginning to catch up to us. We cannot expect to use the tools of yesterday - the tools of the 20th Century - to solves the problems of today and tomorrow. We need a new way of thinking - a way that must stop looking at political and legislative issues as stand alone silos. Education is as closely linked to our ability to fund our pension funds as is the rate of economic growth in California.
