With an ever-increasing push towards advertised pharmaceuticals, our kids need guidance more than ever.Open any newspaper or magazine... Watch TV for more than 5 minutes and you're guaranteed to see some type of marketing for a quick fix pill or potion. While modern medicine has created some amazing advancements that are very beneficial to a number of us, the increasing market and desire to drive profits have allowed 'Big-Pharma' to shove advertising down our throats to the point where most of our society's youth, no longer understands the dangers associated with prescription drug abuse until it is too late. An easily justifiable hobby quickly turns to a gripping addiction, then unfortunately down a dark road that sometimes has a literal 'dead-end'. We need to get out in front on this epidemic more than ever and arm our teens and pre-teens with the real world knowledge to make the proper decisions that will keep them on the higher path and out of harms way. Drug overdoses have taken over auto accidents as the leading cause of death in this generation. These are supposed to be our future leaders and the decision makers of tomorrow, so let's do our part by supporting them get to that point safely. Help me to help US! |
