Fiscal Responsibility, Town Center, Doheny Village, Skatepark & Transparent Digital Government
1) FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE BUDGET PLANNING
The City of Dana Point operates under a two-year budget cycle, with the next cycle starting July 2015. When elected, I will be fiscally responsible and will maintain a balanced budget with healthy reserves for rainy day funds and future capital improvements. Like we all do at home, our City's expenses should not exceed our revenue.
2) GOOD STEWARDSHIP AND FULL FUNDING OF THE TOWN CENTER PROJECT IN OUR LANTERN DISTRICT
I support full funding and completion of the Town Center Plan project in the Lantern District including all amenities such as benches, bike racks, medians, sidewalks and public art. We are in an important "action phase" of the project from both the City and developers perspectives and we need good, common sense leadership to oversee the project to ensure the development exceeds the expectations of all concerned. I will work tirelessly to ensure responsible development in our Town Center's Lantern District that conforms to the approved Town Center Plan.

3) COMPLETION OF THE DOHENY VILLAGE SPECIFIC PLAN & AREA IMPROVEMENTS IN CAPISTRANO BEACH
When elected, I will make the completion of the Doheny Village Specific Plan one of my top priorities. Doheny Village has been neglected far too long and I will get it off the drawing board and into an action phase with both short and long term objectives to help nurture this wonderful part of town and to help it reach its full potential.

4) SKATEPARK FOR OUR YOUTH
When elected, I will work to get a skate park off the drawing board and into the lives of our city's youth and to determine the best locations available for this skatepark. There are many funding options for a skatepark, both public and private.

5) A MORE TRANSPARENT DIGITAL GOVERNMENT VIA A NEW MOBILE FRIENDLY CITY WEBSITE
I will make it a priority to upgrade our city's website to enable more transparent government. The last time our City's website design and structure was updated was back in 2008, before the boom of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets. Modern websites are built in what is called "responsive design" to be mobile friendly, easily viewed on your phone, tablet or laptop computer.
