Questions & Answers

1. What experience related to city government would you bring to the City Council?

I bring the experience of being able to Listen to Citizens. I have seen many changes and have found the need to speak to City Council about issues that either I as an individual have been concerned about or spoken on behalf of Santa Clara Plays Fair. My experience is that of being one that has been affected by decisions the City Council feels is warranted, without resident feedback or consideration. I bring the City Council the experience of having been a resident in the chamber with concerns. And I plan to be a Mayor that allows input from residents. I am not a career politician, I am a concerned citizen about how our city is run.

2. What concerns are of particular importance to the city and how would you address them?

We have three major concerns right now, Parking, Traffic and high density housing. As a city we need to stop and breathe and catch up and review all the needs the housing is placing on us. Evaluate the big picture. We have a stadium now but we have not resolved the parking issues related to the stadium. The Soccer fields need to be addressed in a way that meets the needs of those that use it and those that feel the need to claim it.

3. How would you balance the needs of the City as a whole with groups' interests?

Introduce Town hall Forums, open Government, bring communities together. We have some major splits within our community at the moment. Areas feel threatened and are arguing amongst themselves. We need to come back together and create community again. There needs to be a win/win for everyone. No more 1 minute time limits in City Council for residents to speak. Open Government means no more backroom deals, or closed session government.
