Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Paso Robles

As a resident of Paso Robles for over 34 years, I am motivated and committed to maintaining the "Paso Robles" lifestyle we all enjoy. Having raised our children here, I have experienced our schools and all the activities that go along with raising our children. I have conducted business here, volunteered here and made lasting friendships here. And I met my lovely wife Dawn here. I want to maintain our lifestyle and that is why I am running for City Council.

Volunteering is something that I can't get enough of. During preschool I volunteered as the president of the school. In grammar and middle school I worked as the leader of the parent teacher organizations. I was able to work in the classrooms up through 6th grade. And I Co-chaired two Safe and Sober Grad Nite parties for our high school graduates, I care about all of our children. I have volunteered with the Recreation Advisory Committee, youth sports in baseball, basketball and soccer and coached those teams. While doing this I also volunteered through Rotary, Main Street Association, The Avila Sealife Center, Avila Business Association and various other boards and committees.

Being a Planning Commissioner for 5 years, I have donated countless hours of my time. As part of this I was on the Development Review Committee. Every Monday we review all aspects of the architectural and site plans of most projects coming into the city. While on the Planning Commission, I have served as the Chairman and currently I am the Vice-Chair of the Commission. We have worked well together in a collaborative effort to provide the advisory support to the City Council. This leadership experience has provided me with great skills to be a capable and successful City Councilman.

As a businessman I have worked in the hospitality industry in restaurants and I planned, developed and built Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort in the Avila Beach area. I successfully operated this resort for more than 20 years while living in Paso Robles. We were able aquire and start developing Paso Robles Hot Springs. Prior to leaving we had three separate facilities, a water company and close to 200 employees. Leadership and management were required in all aspects successfully operating these companies. Currently I own a small consulting business and I help my wife with her restaurant "Odyssey World Café in Downtown Paso Robles.

I really enjoy working with the public and staff. I have the citizens of Paso Robles in mind with every decision. I am not afraid to say what I feel is right. I vote with my heart and I listen to all sides concerned. I have great energy and love to problem solve. I am accessible, I do my homework, I am a leader and I will work hard to make our town the best place for all of us to live. And I have the many years of management experience and working with the City to manage and excel as a City Councilman to lead us into the future.
