Mary Rocha is currently Mayor of the city of Antioch, the largest city in the 5th District. Before being elected Mayor four years ago, she served on the Antioch City Council for eight years and as a member of the Anitoch Unified School District School Board for 16 years. Her concern for children and education first led her to elected politics, and she has kept those concerns paramount throughout her successful political career. She graduated from Antioch University in San Francisco in 1990 with a BA in Public Administration. She has been married for 43 years and has three grown children and four grandchildren. Rocha is a member of the United Way County Leadership; Delta Kiwanis International; Delta Kappa Gamma, honorary member; Woman's Club of Antioch; Latin American women's League; advisory member, Center for Human Development; Delta 2000 Board member; and is chair of the Mayors' Conference. |
