Pacelli for Pacific Grove City CouncilBy Robert PacelliCandidate for Councilmember; City of Pacific Grove; Full Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The issues will define my campaign. Commitment to Service will guide my tenure as a member of the City Council. As a resident and homeowner in Pacific Grove for fourteen years, I have served the city as a community activist. I believe the most important issue in our town is the preservation of the Bay. We need a clearly defined plan with specific guidelines, maps, goals and costs that can be easily understood by everyone. In addition, I believe we need to set up a sewage committee of outside specialists so we can research alternative funding and technologies that will give us a world-class sewer system to protect our Monterey Bay Sanctuary. As an outspoken critic of the city's cable franchise negotiation, I have participated in three successful negotiations in other municipalities where the interest of the public, not the cable company, was served. I have used my skills as a filmmaker to publicize local non-profits. I have served with the United Nations in Sarajevo, Somalia and Afghanistan, where I learned the importance of working together and respecting one another. I feel that our community is made up of people whose voices are not being heard and whose opinions are misrepresented in the media and by city officials. Democracy is a participation sport; let's all get involved. Please join my campaign for Pacific Grove City Council and vote for me on November 5. Together we can make a difference. |
