Seven Vital Jobs the Board Needs To AcceptBy Bob BecklundCandidate for Board Member; Campbell Union High School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The Governing Board must accept new jobs in order to meet current student and school needs and of course it must continue its current work.1 Implement a plan to find the reason for limits to academic performance and graduation at each school, get corrective action and promote an environment that encourages academic excellence. 2 Develop a class to reduce the number of dropouts and expulsions. It may involve individual exploration of the wide ranging world of work that requires high school or specialized skills. The class may renew student interest. improve academic performance and increase CUHSD's ADA funding. Reference4: John Taylor Gatto on teaaching, McRae on motivation. 3. Implement a plan to provide simple steps to positive motivation for students, employees, and concerned citizens. 4 Implement a plan for Board members to spend time in classrooms in their assigned school; each member to be available to listen to the views and concerns of students and employees. This demonstration by the Board of their interest in employees, students and the school is a factor in developing the needed positive motivation for CUHSD. 5 Each Board member to review personally, with a perspective appropriate for a Board member, all proposed new textbooks and new curricula before approval. 6. The Board needs to provide an excellent education that promotes morality, good citizenship and harmonious relations as well as excellent academics. Today's students will soon run this country. If they don't get a good education, we will all suffer. 7. The Board needs to continue performing its current jobs. If you agree that the Board needs to accept these jobs, vote for Lou Marotti & Bob Becklund |
