Thirty years of experience as a Peace Officer in Kern CountyMy thirty years of experience as a peace officer has been with various positions. As stated earlier my experience consists of the following, Kern County Probation Officer, Campus Police Officer, Bakersfield Police Officer, State Parole Agent, Correctional Counselor, Prison Program Administrator, Investigative Captain, State wide EEO Investigator and my current position as a Parole Agent Supervisor in the Bakersfield Office. My experience has afforded me the opportunity to work and understand the needs of this community. I have seen the struggles of our citizens and the impact on our community when children grow up without proper education. My experience as a supervisor and mangager has given me the acquired skills in dealing with personnel issues, budgeting and union contract negotiations. As a manager I assisted in the management of a 120 million budget. Also as a manager I had working knowledge of six different union bargaining units. I am confident my varied work experience would be vital as a Board Member to find solutions to the challenges of the Bakersfield City School District. |
