Reduce crime and gang violence.By Vernon L. "Vern" PriceCandidate for Mayor; City of Pomona | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
With the help of the community, I will work to partner our police force, churches and intervention groups to deter criminal and gang activity in Pomona. With an adequately staffed police force assisted by community police patrols and neighborhood focus groups, we can reduce criminal and gang activity. The city of Pomona must make a concerted effort to reach criminals and gang members and address their educational and job needs. Working directly with the criminal and gang member is the only way to break the cycle of violence. I will create district gang task forces which will talk directly with criminals and gang members. This is the only way we will ever reduce or control this social stigma. |
