Growth Vs. Blight

Commercial growth which respects the values and character of the community can be an asset but, unreregulated industrial sprawl can create toxic, environmentally damaging and unsightly blight.

Communities are going to grow. Businesses are needed to meet the needs of an expanding populace. I understand that new business wants to spend as little capital as possible to get started. As a result, safety issues and neighborhood sensibilities are often ignored. It is because of that that the Planning Group must be adament in applying uniform standards to new construction in Lakeside. Selfish interests cannot be allowed to override the needs and desires of the people who live here.
