Dan Briggs Ballot StatementBy Daniel BriggsCandidate for Council Member; City of Elk Grove; Council District 4 | |

COUNCILMAN DAN BRIGGS -- BALLOT STATEMENT I love Elk Grove and am honored to represent you. As your Councilman and former Mayor, I have worked to strengthen public safety and bring new parks, services and amenities to Elk Grove. Together, we have achieved many successes, including: More police protection--As Mayor, in 2005 we created Elk Grove's own Police Department. Doubled the number of officers protecting our neighborhoods. Established new anti-gang police unit. Improved city planning--Implemented managed growth standards that require developers--not taxpayers--to pay for new roads and parks. Fiscal responsibility--Increased city services without raising taxes. Elk Grove earned statewide recognition for outstanding financial management. Traffic relief--Secured more regional transportation funding for city road improvements (Lewis Stein Road extension, Elk Grove Boulevard/Highway 99 Interchange expansion). Elk Grove has been my home since 1990 and I am dedicated to preserving our quality of life. My priorities include: Public safety--Maintain the highest possible level of police and fire protection. Local control--Provide balanced future development to preserve Elk Grove's character and build a stronger tax base for city parks and services. Elk Grove is a dynamic community and a great place to call home. I ask for your vote to build an even brighter future for our city. |
