Full Biography for Steve Tedesco

|
Steve Tedesco's family roots go back three generations in Santa Clara County, contributing to Steve's love of San Jose. Steve was born at O'Connor Hospital, grew up in the same home his entire life near Valley Fair, attending Moorpark Elementary School, Monroe Middle School, Del Mar High School and San Jose State University. His first job out of college was working for the Campbell Planning Department before moving on to the San Jose Chamber of Commerce where he eventually became the President and CEO. During that time he also was elected to the Campbell Union High School Board of trustees which made him acutely aware of education issues. Growing up, Steve learned to appreciate small business ownership when his first job was working with his late father, Hank and his uncle Paul, who were the owners of Sodality Meats. The business was first located on the corner of Bird and Auzerais. Steve has applied this first hand community and business experience, along with his many years of Chamber experience, to understand the challenges business face when dealing with City Hall. Steve's appreciation for the natural beauty of our Valley began while growing up and spending lots of time at his mother's Picchetti Family Ranch, up above Steven's Creek Dam. This makes him particularly sensitive to being very cautious about the development of any current open space and the need to maintain and add parks to our city. The family eventually sold the property to the Peninsula Open Park District who run it and also lease the family home to a winery who continues to make wines under the Picchetti Winery label. Steve has continued to live in District 6 with his wife of 26 years, Karen Storey, and their son Sam, who is a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School.
