1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)
1990 BS in Management and Accounting; 30+ years of property management experience, both residential (2006>2007 managed Village owned properties) and commercial (shopping centers and office); owned and managed rental property in the Village since 1976; ran a remodeling business for 20+ years; certified home and mold inspector.2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)
1. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY via compliance following Ohio State Auditor recommendations and guidelines. Competitive bidding should be the rule, not the exception. Hire top-notch municipal manager, gifted in grant writing. Village tenants pay timely market rent rates. Eliminate nepotism - hire qualified productive employees. Practice open government and tap into the citizen volunteer talent pool.
2. PROMOTE VILLAGE-WIDE PROPERTY IMPROVEMENT via enforcement of local building and zoning codes. Follow fair housing policies to attract good citizens. Foster owner purchase of rehabbed Village town homes.
3. CREATE A NEW CITIZEN-DRIVEN MASTER PLAN respecting our historic roots and looking toward the future.3. State three actions that you recommend to promote regional cooperation, and explain how you would implement each action? (150 word limit)
1. PARKS, RECREATION & SERVICES Our Village is nestled within Winton Woods parklands. Take advantage of the Hamilton County Park District's willingness to develop the Village pocket parks. Greenbelt, Maryland has 26 wonderfully equipped playgrounds. Village parents and kids long for safe play equipment near their homes. Grant monies and corporate sponsors can make this dream a reality. Strike an agreement to have the Village lawn care contracted to park employees who are mowing, plowing, etc + or at least share equipment.
2. SHOPPING CENTER Assist the owner with upgrading the Village-owned parking areas. Provide land for Winton Road pylon signage. Landscape between Winton Road and the street/parking lot area. Get on-board with the Winton Road corridor development. Coupled with regional economic development marketing to attract desirable destination businesses/office tenants establishing a vibrant regional attraction.
3. HISTORIC HERITAGE + Be proud of Greenhills and spread the word far and wide!!
