Removal of Class B Sludge from the areaI was actively involved in removing the "SLUDGE", from the area. I became a member of a local group (Communities Against Toxic Enviornments (CATE). We established ourselves, and became a local voice to remove sludge (biosolids) from the area. I served on the County Of Riverside's Blue Ribbon Pannel to study the effects of sludge (biosolids) for 4 years (two different pannels two years each). The pannel(s) showed the Class B the farmers were using needed to be better refined to a class A standard. This study required numerous trips to Riverside County, as well as other areas on my own budget. No compensation was received by me. I am a Rural Resident, I raise livestock. I realize the need for community identity and how the lifestyles add to the overall interest(s) of the people. With a good variety of interests we can grow and become unique, further enriching our lives. |
