Political Philosophy for Thomas A. "tom" Benigno
Candidate for |
I have been a Republican for as long as I can remember. I tried to stay the course within the guidlines of what a Republican should be. Then in the 2002, I saw a shift in the party. It was slight but it was evident to those who were involved in politics. I watched the ethical part that the party was about to crumble. The campaign contributions and special interest took over the party. I felt it was my responsibility to try and adjust the values back to where we were. I found out that it only could be done by running against those who have strayed away from the true values of the party. In doing so, I hurt my standing with a few Republicans, but looking back it was worth every moment of the task. Now that I have done my work for the party it's time to help my fellow Republicans who believe as I do that we are not on the right course for the future. The Supervisors seat is a bi- partisian seat so I feel comfortable doing what I set out to accomplish. To do for those who support me and for those who were fooled by the outside interest. Now we can see that I was right. |
