Fiscal AccountabilityBy Paul RussellCandidate for Trustee; Colton Joint Unified School District; Trustee Area 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Oversight of Measure G, if it passes. In these times, fiscal accountability is extremely important. If Measure G passes, the Board must ensure that maximum use of the money is made. Without doubt the Board dropped the ball with Measure B in 2000 and failed to maximize the money provided. To keep faith with the voters this time the best use of the money must be made. Not only must the Oversight Committee be provided with all the information about plans in a timely manner, but the Board and the Committee must work together. It is extremely important that new schools be built, especially a new high school in Grand Terrace. The district is in need of new middle schools and elementary schools to reduce over crowding. Significant work must be done at Colton High School and Bloomington High School to bring these facilities up to date. |
