One of the most important challenges facing America today is the crisis in healthcare. I know first hand the importance of advocating for research and preventive treatment. I will continue to support immediate health care reform that reduces financial burden on families, provides access to the uninsured, and is financially sustainable. As a parent and grandparent we need to ensure that our children have a well balanced diet. I support nutritional programs in schools in order to avoid iron deficiency in children as well as to curtail the rise in childhood Obesity, Hypertension and Type II Diabetes. Across the San Gabriel Valley there has been a systemic increase in patients suffering from renal disease. Having lost my father to renal failure, I know what families endure when they care for their loved ones who are on dialysis. |
