Candidate for
Board Member; Sequoia Union High School District

I'm a resident of East Palo Alto for over 35 years and married with four children. Two of my children have attended Woodside and Menlo Atherton High Schools. I too, am a product of Sequoia Union High School District. I've been employed by Stanford University for over 20 years currently as a Development Associate at the Graduate School of Business.

As a Governing Board Member of Sequoia Union High School District I plan to bring my educational knowledge and two years of board president experience as a former board member for Ravenswood City School District. Throughout my two-terms with Ravenswood City School District. I've demonstrated a commitment for improving parent and student involvement. I've invested in our tears by increasing salaries with an overall 80% community approval of bonds and parcels that also included facility upgrades. I'm not afraid to hold school administrators accountable to educational reform to improve academic achievement for all students. I've sought out ways to improve the achievement gap by incorporating small schools re-establishing partnerships with other local community entities and involved other outreach agencies to improve academic afterschool programs.
