Why you should vote for John SalazarBy John SalazarCandidate for Board Member; San Dieguito Union High School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Here is what I want to do if elected:I'm a successful small business owner and teacher. My experience as a teacher, has given me firsthand knowledge of the many areas our school district is excelling in and the opportunities for improvement. My business background has prepared me to make tough choices to ensure Academic Excellence in our schools. I pledge to: · Find and eliminate administrative wasteful spending · Protect taxpayers by ensuring all money spent benefits students and not the bloated bureaucracy · Ensure parents can send their children to a safe, quality school in their own neighborhood · Protect college-prep courses and never "dumb down" our schools · Push for more career and vocational programs to ensure our students can compete in the 21st century economy We must teach our students the civic lessons of protecting freedom and defending liberty. I am a parent of three, one of whom is still attending our local public high school. Finally, a good education starts with great teachers and principals, which means it's critical we have higher standards and better training for both. We must improve overall teacher performance. When evaluation and additional training fail, we must be empowered to replace ineffective teachers to protect our kids' quality education. I ask for your vote. |
